New River Rafting: West Virginia: New River Gorge
Rafting the New River Gorge National River, “the New”, in West Virginia is an ideal vacation spot with a wide range of white water rafting trips and outdoor adventures for people of all ages and walks of life.

The New River tumbles over a boulder-strewn riverbed on a scenic 53-mile descent through more than 32,000 acres of river corridor. Commonly known as the “ Grand Canyon of the East”, the steep cliffs and upland forest surrounding the canyon create a wealth of opportunities for outdoor adventure trips including rock climbing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, fishing and much more.

UPPER NEW RIVER RAFTING

The Upper New River offers family white water rafting featuring Class II-III rapids that are relatively mild in nature. You'll find plenty of places to relax and play along the way whether rafting as a group or paddling an inflatable duck . And if an afternoon is not enough, make an evening of it on an Upper New River Overnighter. There is no better place to spend time with family and friends.

LOWER NEW RIVER RAFTING

The Lower New River steps up the pace with exciting white water rafting and over 25 rapids ranging from Class II-IV . Between the drops are relaxing pools where you can catch your breath and gather strength for the next big challenge. The gorge creates a spectacular setting for your adventure filled with natural scenic beauty and abundant wildlife. I just came down for the Memorial Day weekend and I have to say that the employees at Rivermen couldn't have made it a more pleasurable experience. From the general goodhearted friendliness to the curbside fire wood delivery, I want to say that it just doesn't get much better than that. The real pleasure was dealing with those circus animals you call rafting guides. From Robert C with his bad jokes that made even the most hung over person laugh to the guide who gave us a heck of a ride Nugget aka Nick. Not only I, but we as a collective group can say that the experience we had on the river that day was all do to the expertise, wherewithal, leadership, and downright fularious antics of Nick. I want to come back down as soon as I possibly can and ride the Gauley and the guide I want taking me down those class fives is Nick. Anyways, we all had a blast, so thank you for a supurb weekend. There was no better way to spend Memorial Day weekend then with the people of Rivermen.Cheers,Steve Euga
