An early spring New River whitewater rafting trip provides an extremely intense ride comparable to many western rivers. The spring season is the best time of year for New River as it offers an exciting ride with high water, ocean sized waves, and huge rapids. To beat it all, the Spring offers awesome rates, a calm atmosphere and blooming beauty all around.
This is the ultimate in top white water rafting in West Virginia. If you are a “go-for-it” person, you’ll love this rafting trip! Just be prepared for cool weather and big thrills!
There's nothing like crashing through huge waves and narrowly escaping from bus-sized hydraulics!
2.
Seeing rare features like Pig Farmer Falls, Bonsai and the Million Dollar Wave.
3.
The house sized boulders become house sized holes.
4.
You may have to suddenly extend your New River trip because someone swam at Fayette Station due to the fact they were spending too much time looking at the monstrosity of the New River Gorge Bridge from below.
5.
Swimming becomes not just a form of exercise but also a religious experience.
I just returned from my first whitewater rafting trip on the Middle/Lower Gauley, and I have to say it was absolutely awesome!!! My best friend and I had been planning this trip for several months, then she broke her leg just a few days before our trip and wasn't able to join me. I decided to go ahead and do this by myself and am so glad I did. Our river guide was Scott Emery and he took me under his wing that day and made me feel so comfortable, as did the rest of the group. The gorge was beautiful. Scott was very knowledgeable of the river and the surroundings. This whole experience was amazing. I absolutely loved it and cannot wait to do it again next year on the Upper Gauley!!! Also, wanted to give kudos to Lannie for getting us to and from the river safely, and to Matt, our video boater, for catching up to us and giving us the opportunity to share this experience with our friends and family. You are all top notch and I would recommend you to anyone.
