This wilderness experience begins at our Historical Thurmond, West Virginia put-in. You will spend the day leisurely floating down a relatively mild section of whitewater rafting on the New River, taking time to kick back and enjoy the natural beauty surrounding you. We will set up rustic West Virginia accommodation at your campsite late in the afternoon and by evening you will be experiencing “Rivermen hospitality” with a gourmet dinner and tall tales around the campfire. After a hearty breakfast, you’ll be off to conquer the most challenging section of the New River. Then it’s back to base camp early in the afternoon.

UPPER NEW RIVER OVERNIGHTER
This Upper New River rafting overnighter is a one of a kind family rafting adventure in beautiful West Virginia offers great outdoor activities for kids to do and enough fun that they will talk about for years to come. This New River rafting trip combines a nice mix of easy white water rapids and calm water, perfect for the family that craves the thrill of whitewater rafting with an occasional swim. You can also take duckies along at no added cost. These kayak-like inflatables are great fun for kids and grown-ups alike!

Our friendly guides will provide lunch, set up camp that evening and serve up a delicious gourmet dinner after which you can toast marshmallows and tell tall-tales around the campfire. The next morning, you'll wake to the smell of a hearty breakfast—just what you’ll need to get you going for the last section of your New River rafting trip. After lunch, we’ll bid farewell to the river and head back to the New River Gorge Adventure Center.
